Junk food is one of the staples of life; ice cream, candy, chocolate, all the good stuff. But just exactly how much sugar are we putting into our bodies with each one of these delicious treats? 

 

Now, in November, we are reminded of the importance of maintaining our health through diabetes awareness. It is important to remember that there are two types of diabetes: Type 1 is genetic, and Type 2 is from unhealthy eating habits, so here’s a quick reminder, or some information about foods that we love to eat every day!

Health Issues:

Lays actually aren’t considered “terrible” like some other foods on this list are, but if you eat them too frequently, they can result in weight gain and high blood pressure because they are loaded with saturated fat and sodium.

Takis are also unhealthy to eat every day, because just like Lays, they’re packed with saturated fat and sodium, which causes obesity and high blood pressure. Also, they contain a lot of artificial colors, which can lead to an increase in hyperactivity, such as ADHD.

Health Issues:

Like all the other foods on this list, the Single Cheeseburger is high in sodium, saturated fat, and calories; and too much of these things can lead to high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Also, the processed meat in the patty was found to be carcinogenic, which can lead to certain types of cancer.

Health Issues:

Like all other foods on this list, Breyers Vanilla Ice Cream has an unhealthy amount of saturated fats and is high in sugar, which could lead to Type 2 Diabetes. Also, Breyers Ice Cream can have misleading information about “natural” ingredients, which can have chemicals and allergens such as tree nuts.

 

Foods keep getting more delicious these days, but we have to be careful what we consume, because a lot of these foods contain pretty unhealthy items that can cause life-threatening sicknesses, especially if you eat them every day, so it’s always important to moderate what we eat, as it can be bad for us and our future.
