What is the NNO?

National Night Out is an annual tradition for law enforcement to build trust within the community. The Celebration of honor on the first Tuesday of August each year. This year it was on August 5th. This tradition establishes that law enforcement strives to understand the community that they serve.

What does law enforcement do on this day?

The law enforcement community contains police officers, firefighters, and sergeants from S.W.A.T. teams. They ride in their vehicles and go through the neighborhood passing out giveaways and candies for their residents. Furthermore, when you arrive at the endpoint of where the parade stops, you will come across the police officers, who will give you a sticker and a pen for your welcome to the event. There will be massive bouncy castles and play areas for kids to enjoy their night.

Law Enforcement that gives advice:

The mobile command center will have a tour with one of the sergeants that shows you all the protocols. Police Officer Sergeant Eric told the residents about their roles and the services they provide in our town. Showing the generators and the functions that are covered in the tour. The Deputy Chief of the Jupiter Firefighter Department, Michael Destefano, showed me the “great brush truck”, which responds to emergency situations such as fires and rescues.

Finally, Police Officer Trish Hoizer was interviewed to ask her what has inspired her and some tips that she uses to manage her hectic schedule.
