Spooky Season is now upon us, Mariners! The month is filled with the Haunted Mariner Cruise for the 6th graders, Red Ribbon Week, and the end of the first quarter. This issue of the Mariner Messenger is even better than the last. We have an incredible lineup of articles this month. The lineup features the following articles: Most Haunted Places in the World, a US Open Recap, Superstitions and their origins, a Bullying Prevention article, and an article on How Breast Cancer Affects Families.
The issue also features different opinion editorials on extracurricular activities and how they affect mental health, the school phone ban, and whether Christopher Columbus was a good person. We also have many articles revolving around some people’s only reason to like October, Halloween! Whether it’s an article on Halloween around the world, JMS’s favorite candy poll, or Do You Know What You’re Eating-Halloween Edition.
Another fun thing happening in October is the continuation of the baseball and softball season. Our baseball and softball players have been extremely resilient this season. October is also the start of Boys Soccer, Cheerleading, and Girls’ Volleyball. Wishing all of you athletes trying out the best of luck! And last but certainly not least, Halloween is on a Friday this year! Can’t wait to see how late the Halloween activities are this year! I wish everyone a wonderful October filled with buckets of candy corn, pumpkin-flavored foods, classic Halloween movies, and iconic Halloween costumes!
