You’ve definitely seen Ms. Lowe around the school, but you probably don’t know her story and background. She’s had an amazing journey and doesn’t plan to stop anytime soon, with a commitment to nurturing young people and fostering the community through creativity!
Education
Ms. Lowe has been in education for 35 years! She’s been in middle school for 29 years and 6 years in high school. “That’s a lot of report cards!” she exclaims. She wanted to have a career in education because her coach and guidance counselor believed in her. “They saw my potential and encouraged me to go to college, which made a huge impact on my life!” When she was in college, she took health education, explaining, “I’ve always loved science, especially anatomy and physiology!” She thought she wanted to be a nurse, even working in an emergency room during college, but she later changed her mind, “So, I switched my major to athletic training and eventually became a PE teacher.”
She really enjoyed being a PE teacher, stating, “One of my favorite things was learning from my students. Every year, I had them teach lessons, and I became a student.” She loved seeing the students research and present, “They realized teaching is harder than it looks, and I gained a lot of respect from them!”

Church
Ms. Lowe is very involved with her church, explaining, “I’m the Youth Leader and Youth Teacher. I also organize Vacation Bible School and other fun activities throughout the year!” Every Thursday afternoon, she teaches Bible-based lessons with a “contemporary twist”. One of her responsibilities is programming events for the Youth Department, which includes: Back to School, Vacation Bible School, Graduate Recognition Sunday, Black History Month, Hallelujah Night, Special Presentations at Easter and Christmas, and social events like skating and bowling! She believes in helping young people grow and develop. “Investing in them is super important to me! I want young people to know that a strong foundation is to share important lessons to live a productive and meaningful life.”
Ms. Lowe works as an administrative assistant for the International Dance & Mime Troupe, which is a performance group who specialize in worship dance, pantomime (entertainment where performers express meaning through gestures accompanied by music), and flag ministry, which is a form Christian worship arts using different items like flags and banners to dance and express praise, show spiritual warfare, and represent God’s presence. Ms. Lowe exclaims, “I have some pretty cool moves behind the scenes!”
