Get Ready for the 2025 Football Season
Stepping Onto the Field

The College Football season has started during these weeks, and it sure will be interesting! Texas has been predicted to take it all this year, ranked #1 on the boards, but many other well-built teams are also fit for a win this year.

Champions?

Last season, Ohio State took home the win against Notre Dame, sealing their title as National Champions. Who will take that title this year? It could be Texas, a highly predicted team, or maybe an underdog. There are so many possibilities this year, and we’re all for it! There are definitely going to be some insanely close games this season, maybe even more wild than the Orange Bowl last year, when Penn State and Notre Dame had an extremely close end-game. At the last seconds, Notre Dame decided to risk it all for a 41-yard field goal, tied up with Penn State at 24 – 24, and they made it! It was an exhilarating moment for the team as they advanced to the National Championship. Who knows what will happen this year? It’s guaranteed to be a big season!

Week One

The first games to kick off the first week are Iowa State vs. Kansas State, and the week ends with TCU vs. North Carolina. The broadcasts covering the games are on ESPN, CBS, Paramount+, and Hulu. There are a lot of top teams this year, including Texas, Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, LSU, and Clemson. Two other teams to watch closely would be Wisconsin, as they have a tough schedule this year, and they’re facing many of the top teams. The other team is Oklahoma State for their roster management, with the large number of transfers they had this year.

New Rules/Changes

Because players would often practice faking injuries, the NCAA has implemented new rules regarding this practice. If a player fakes an injury, the team will receive a delay penalty or a team time-out. If the team has no time-outs left, then the player must stay out of the game for at least one down. Either way, the player must have medical clearance from a professional/approved personnel before being able to resume playing. Another rule is that anybody recovering a loose ball or a fumble is now considered a defenseless player, meaning you can not check them from their blindside. A change to the Instant Replay has also been added. When the referees determine whether the initial judgment made by the official should be changed, they will now use the word “upheld” rather than confirmed or stands. Many players and coaches have very mixed reactions to these rules, but they sure will make this season interesting!
